I have read on here that ecertain brands of extractors for the D2 hang too low.

I need a complete exhaust system and want to know where to get a good sporty (LOUD) system in Brisbane.

I was looking at using HM headers on mine, they would have sat pretty well up high, i was also looking at using twin 2in highflow cats and tucking it all up high to stop me breaking the exhaust manifolds(always draged the cats on ruts and snapped the weld on the flange below the manifold), as for sound, i used a single straight through Magnaflow mufler on mine and it had a very nice note, though it wasnt extremely loud, if you want a nice note and lotsa volume try and walker or lukey straight through muffler and no resonator, that would sound bloody loud and beefy :)

The headers and cats i found great prices for on http://www.tuffcarparts.com
Much cheaper then the local exhuast places would charge for the exact same bits.

This is with the standard headers and 2.5in stainless from the cat back with just the maganflow straight through stainless muffler and no resonator.

2.5 is the standard exhaust dia isn't it.

Exhaust man says my cats are high flow and still in fine condition and that the standard manifold isn't too bad for flow.

Yep, i think the standard d2 exhaust is actualy slightly larger then 2.5 and stainless from factory, i had mine redone from the Y peice back to gain some clearance and stop dragging breaking mounts and pipes, i wouldnt bother doing that if i was to do it over again, just replace the headers and cats, run a single muffler, then maybe "adjust" the rest if possible to lift it up a little including trying to fit the tail pipe up slightly higher.

As for the cats have you seen the size of them?? they are big buggers!! thats the reason i was going for after market highflow ones, so they could be tucked up more neatly then the huuuuge standard ones. Looking under my disco 2 you could see why the cats were always copping a beating with how low they hang, as soon as i hit some big muddy ruts i would be dragging the cats along them.
