Hi everyone

The cork gasket (about the size of a 50c piece) that seals my glass fuel bowl is letting air into my diesel. I can see bubbles blowing into the diesel when it's idling in the driveway.

What's this part called and where do I get a new one?

cheers,
Alastair

If you get some Neoprene impregnated gasket material, you can make your own quite easily.

Especially if you were any good at Kindy with the plastic scissors & paste stuff.:D

Really, it is a doddle.

Alternatively, measure it and go see your local bearing supplier (or probably Repco etc). A synthetic rubber ring would work as well as the cork.

if its the one on the fuel pump its the fuel pump bowl gasket. just take the cork one to a decent seal place and they should be able to give you a new rubber one.

IF it looks a bit like a filter then its the sedimenter bowl and when you buy a service kit for it you should recieve a new seal.
