Hmmm, my 7 month old lab can put him to shame:).
His last trick was to sneak into my outside office and pinch the stapler, biro's and- what really fired me up, a folder of important certificates etc off my desk and completely shred them - all in under 10 min.

dogs will do that because they have too much energy and nothing else to do.......its their way of keeping themselves amused......
you need to spend more time with them to use up all this excess energy they have......so they can settle down......
a good method is to take the leash and hook it up to your dog......and then hook the other end over your towball........
and go for a bit of a drive.........

The trouble with cute little Staffy x is that they take a minimum of 3 year to grow brains.

I can't agree with that advice....
A towball is not rated for shockloads imposed by a lead under tension. You should use a rated recovery point :twisted::twisted:.

Well you will keep a pet horse...:p Yep he's getting pretty big now. Reading the other stories makes me feel better, been a while since I have had a pup, and he rates right up there for destruction. Anyone recommend an indestructible bed, we have gone through 3 hessian covers so far:mad:.

OK, to clear this up...
It really depends on the size of the dog. Little dogs are OK for factory tiedown points, medium dogs ok for towballs, big dogs require dedicated recovery points.

The problem with the terminology you use here is it is very subjective. For example my mum thinks she owns a big dog but it is only a kelpie. My dad thinks he has a big dog but it is a german shephard. None are as big as a great dane.
Is there a national classification for dog size in relation to towing device?
If there isn't we should make it an election issue!

You really dissapoint me with this comment...
You should never tie your dog up to the towball with a leash. ALWAYS use a rated tow cable or drag chain. If the leash brakes then the dog can easily become a missile and could cause serious injury.

This is getting to be very complex.
We now need:
A dog sizing standard.
A tow point to dog size rating chart.
A dog size to tow cable size chart.
Maybe we can get a government grant to figure it all out :D.
