No joking....

Well talking with a friend earlier who was having a service done on his Patrol at a diesel shop in Adelaide. He has been going there for a while and mentioned to the guy that I had a Disco the same as what he had on the hoist.

He said to my mate but I bet his leaks oil. (Hmmm yep surprise surprise) then said come have a look, this one doesn't.

Looking underneath around the join for the transfer case etc was a grey "spray"

Yep someone had leak proofed it with what appears to be the "leak sealant" in a spray on can they use to advertise all the time. (Sealing up colanders etc)

It seemed to be doing the job!

(sorry if this belongs to you and your reading this but had to share!)

I wonder at what point of frustration the owner was laying under the vehicle and looked over at the shelves at the left over paints and noticed the leak sealer just sitting there

So is someone going to fess up????? (It is likely this vehicle lives in the southern suburbs of Adelaide)

Or better still who's going to test if that is what was used???? (Not sure how you would go seperating them later if you needed too though)

They are not leaks....it is british engineering excellence..oil loss and distribution to inhibit corrosion under the vehicle:D:D:D:D

Poms probably had an atomic bomb before the Yanks but it leaked so much radiation they couldn't finish it:p

So, when were you at Monte Bello, or was it Marralinga?

Coz they did leak. Mates of mine were there, got the full x-ray effect the lot. All dead now.

OK TIME FOR A LEGAL DISCLAIMER!!!!!!

I'm not saying it is a good idea or if it works, if there are problems it could create etc etc if you do it do so at your own risk!

It was posted more for the humour than anything....

I haven't seen it advertised for donkey's but would imagine if it is still available you would be able to get it at a hardware store. It was pushed mainly for fixing leaks in pipes, guttering etc. You could sray it on (even when wet I think) it set quickly then you could paint it.

Yep, I remember the ads, I also remember not thinking that highly of it.

I prefer to fix leaks properly. New gaskets, gasket glue, weld the bastard together, what ever it takes. Takiwrap works. Looks ugly.
But, a can of grey putty? EEEWW.
