What are some audacious paint colours that could look good on a Disco 1? After 2.5 years of organising, my uncle, a panel beater, is going to repair some paintwork "issues" (ie. the paint is falling off in sheets:eek:). I figure I might as well have a bit of fun with this:D
I was thinking NATO green but can't find a picture anywhere of one.
Any ideas? All work will be professionally done in a booth etc, no roller and brush experimentation.

Urban Camo, like that black, white and gray, but use metalic shades of silver.

What about the colours used on 70's muscle cars. Strike me pink, Lone Oranger, Home on the Orange, Purr Pull, NV Green, Rough Red. Perhaps Napier Green (the correct name for British Racing Green), or White with blue stripe (USA racing colours) to acknowledge Ford ownership. Metallic mid blue with a silver southern cross, the Eureka Flag. Green with two gold V's, the Australian jersey. Haveany rellies in the AIF? What about their battalion colour patch? I did a 1928 Dodge in black top and body with royal blue guards for the 49th. Battalion, my grandfathers final unit in 1918.

I can help with the army olive drab, but it's a semi gloss, not a gloss paint.

True, protec do make it in gloss, but i've never tried to confirm if they still make it ;)
Anyway, in gloss it would be pretty close to one of the standard discovery colours!

I had a bit of an idea last night, using Tangiers Orange on Nato Green, but after spending a while mucking around this morning, I just can't seem to get it to look 'right'. :(
I reckon the urban cammo in metallic silver sounds alright

Inspired by Quiggers (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showpost.php?p=635765&postcount=24):
Glow in the dark!
Seriously, it is doable - you can mix in the pigments with your paint, and have one colour by day, and another one radiating at night! And if that isn't audacious, then what is?
:)

Back in the eighties when I was a regular at Oran Park club days, (as a helper for a few drivers) a number of guys had their 'sportscars' painted in dayglo orange or yellow. Bizarre!
White with big black 'UN' letters on the sides.:twisted:
