Just sharing some info regarding accessories for the new Defender.
Grover now sports a genuine LR Snorkel, Headlight Protectors, Weathershields, Full checker plate kit, front mudflaps and rear worklight :D
One funny thing though - LR can't fit their steel bullbar (made by ARB) yet - but I can get one fitted in December from ARB themselves. So next month Grover gets the all new ARB deluxe winch bar too.
Opposite Lock have also been involved in the action - adding a rear wheel carrier, a front bash plate and diff guard, Outback drawers and a Bluetongue compressor.
So genuine Snorkels etc are available now for the 07 model - I've got 'em!!!! :)

Well shouldn't the colour of the car at least somewhat match the colour of the character it is named after?
Eg. The Numpties have Gandalf - Grey then became white, hence the white roof.

Eh? Names and colours matching?
Jupiter was/is white,
Fire Truck is light green,
Neither red as you might expect!
And Scallops, it's good to see you're getting the accessories sorted out sooner rather than later! :)

I agree. Speaking from experience, if you don't do it now you may never get around to it.
Do you mind revealing what the all-up cost is for ARB to fit the bar?
And is your rear wheel carrier a swing away one, or does it open with the door?

The all up cost of the Bar fitted is $1287.00 - the rear wheel carrier opens with the door.

I'd be interested to see a piccy of your cargo barrier once fitted - the Black Widow website says these are unavailable for Defenders??? - and the Milford barrier for the TD5 doesn't fit. So I'm waiting for the new Milford version.

Ooooh! Tell us more about it. I thought the only "opens with door" solutions were from the UK. What did yours cost may I ask?

Mate - you need to throw a Barby, turn on some brews and invite me over - I can't go quoting prices for everything!!!;)

Yeah, O.L. has got quite a few things and ARB seems to be lagging badly. I've had some great assistance from opposite lock with my new 'fender.

When buying accessories shop around. Prices for my snorkel (fitted) varied by a few hundred $$ with the most expensive of course being the dealer, they wanted $800!

I thought reading this thread "stuff it, you are sick of having the spare in the cargo bay, shout yourself a rear wheel carrier that opens with the door"
So I get a quote from OL: $675 + $224 fitting.
Turns out I'm not as sick as i thought I was. :(

Correct me if i'm wrong, and excuse me for stating the obvious but wouldn't the snorkle be the only accessory that would be different to the older Defender.
Mantec in the UK make a snorkle for them, as far as i know from the UK forums they aren't that much dearer, maybe no dearer.

oh ok i knew you were talking about the mantec snorkle in the uk baz i thought you were comparing the price of that to the price of one here!!!!
the one they make for the new 07 defender they make for td5's and 300tdi's as well i'm asuming its same mould different piping........
i have tried to contact them as we are looking at buying for our defender, but still no reply i tried again this morning if they dont reply inthe next couple of days then i'm going to call them......so far the price of a mantec is sigificantly cheaper than the price from a dealer here in oz......all depends on postage but even then i reckon it will still be cheaper, but i wont know that until they get in contact with me

This is depressing . . . I just make everything for my IIA. Bullbar, a couple of hundred bucks; wheel carrier, about $20, since it's made out of bits of steel I had lying around; sidesteps, about $40, fuel tanks, about $200-$300 each 11 years ago; snorkel, $80 or so, (I had to buy @#%$ new 3" exhaust pipe!); checkerplate, the army supplied it free via the tip when they were out here . . . :p
No, your new car sounds great and I was hoping to get one for a family-carrier, but I'll just have to wait for a couple of years!

Yeah, but are we sure LR haven't changed anything in the rear door frame? They did between early & late 02MY and it still wasn't that strong so I wonder if they beefed it up some more?
Part of me hopes so, but part of me wan'ts a swing-away wheel carrier without having to wait for a specific 07MY design.
