G'day

Slowly tracking down the oil leaks

Done heads, from crank case seal, sump

But still leaking oil

Given underneath good clean last night

1st - suggestions for source of leak

2nd - rear main seal, can be done in back yard??, by amatuer and all the gear

If ok to 2, do you need special tools

thanks

Alan, if it is the rear main seal leaking (engine), it will require removing gearbox and then Clutch/ pressure plate/ Torque convertor and the flywheel. if it is a 1 piece seal it's not too hard to replace, if it's 2 piece a bit harder, I will have at look at my W/Shop Manual.
Need to know if the D1 rear seal is the same as the D2.
Alan I could talk you through it if you want, PM me if you want to go further, Regards Frank.
