Tans Temp light on D2Td5

I do USE my dosco, and yes..the occasional bog hole.
Now when I work her little the Trans Temp light comes on.
I've blasted the crap out of where I think the trans cooler is (at the CARWASH)..... last w/e was still a prob.

BTW, this only happens when i work her hard or recently tow my camper

Anyone else had this???

Yep, and $5K later the basics of what I learned is that you can blast it through the radiator pack all you like, but to clean it properly you'll need to get to the ATF cooler and do it. The ATF cooler is in the middle of the radiator pack and down at the bottom. What I though was going to clean was actually packed solid.

Simon if he's towing an additional trans cooler would be benifical too, wouldn't it??

Gday Baz, I tend to think so, yes for when towing. I'm pretty sure that LR have selected the OE size ATF cooler though, as I find with mine (now with additional cooler) that the torque converter doesn't lock until the ATF reaches a certain temp. Thats generally not a problem in Sydney (although I did drive the entire penrith motorway unlocked the other day), though I would expect it to be a greater issue in Victoria where it is no doubt generally colder.

This said, I would much much prefer the ATF to be cold rather than hot due to the damage that heat does to the transmission.

Thanks Slunnie. I'll have it all out next week by the look of things. Getting the trannie serviced then too so a complete fluid change wont do any harm either.
