The boys have been having MAX problems with the OTHER grader driver. He is designated as the CONSTRUCTION grader driver,Im the MAINTENENCE grader driver.
Anyway,he has taken a weeks sick leave as he isnt coping with life at the moment.
I had private works to do for the shire yesterday with my grader then did a couple of hours on the other blokes Volvo.
Totally different machine, not all that comfortable with it at all,it may be new but Im real comfy with my CAT,the VULVA has too many electronics.
OK not done construction, the way we work it is you sort out the previous days gravel whilst the trucks deliver, after lunch you push their gravel out to be sorted out the next day.
The leading hand pushed the dirt yesterday, except for a couple of hours I did at the end of the day,BIG MESS took me till 2pm to sort it out.Didnt help being un familiar with the grader.
By this time the trucks had a mountain of gravel to shift, leading hand starting to trip a main fuse as he couldnt see it being spread and traffic safe by sunset.
I was now getting the hang of the volvo thing, give me my old CAT any day!!!
3.30pm all spread and traffic safe for the nite, blew the leading hand away, told me the number1 wouldnt have even spread 1/2 of that dirt in the time.
I havent done this type of work before so I will only get better.Must admit, impressed myself too:cool::cool::cool::cool:
I can see a grader driver swap FINALLY happening!!!!
