You could try Phil at TRS in Lonsdale SA
Be conscious that the ECU must be from the same model & year with the same specs.
You cant go putting one from a manual into an auto & visa versa. The auto has extra pins & carried more electricery capacity on board.
They're not cheap - but I have seen prices ranging from $500 - $900. If you come across one for an MY04 Auto TD5 Disco let me know. I have a ride to pimp & dont want to use my ECU.
Cheers:):)

Hi Ruslan,
Did the one in the Defender freeze up overnight down your way last winter and you need a spare? ;)
Have a chat with the person who tweaked ours up. He can get them and load in the info so your Defender will start and run OK when you fit it.
Besides getting an ECU you have to get the security codes for your Defender loaded into it and the numbers on the injectors.
This is done at the "stealers" when a replacement unit is fitted. It stops bad guys breaking into your car and them installing their ECU and then driving it away. The ECU also needs to know what injectors the TD5 has so it can supply the appropiate amount of correct fuel.
If your after getting the fuel economy back fit a Vortex muffler, the EGR bypass kit and the Vortex brought my MY2003 Disco TD5 back to where it was before the remap with even more power and will be a lot cheaper. I just went for the metal one and not stainless steel. I have also left the Cat converter and rear resonator in the exhaust system. I will eventually get around to having them removed but not at Pilbara Pricing.

Fantastic having somewhere between 30 - 40% more grunt and the same fuel economy. Torque curve is way up as well, you can really feel it and that's more than likely why the fuel economy is back - more power at less revs.

Almost correct....
Manual Cant be used in an Auto...
Other than that An Auto can be used in a manual...
I can even make them have no Security codes  (eg. plug and play)

Hi Brad,
No, it's running very well, no probs. :) I just want another one for spare, with the same program as current one.
Security code. Is it the code I've got from "stealer" on card? I think I can input them using radio/CD player interface, is it correct? Once I've disconnected the ECU to explore what's inside ;) the box, and had to put security code after.
Fuel economy. From last 10 tanks I've got 11.4L/100km average (from 10.2 to 12.6) on mud tyres. Do you think I can ask for better with the Vortex muffler? It must be good option, and might be I can achive better results, but it is not high priority at the moment. Replacement pipe does the job too. I'd put money on bigger intercooler before Vortex.
Cheers,
Ruslan

Ruslan - Long time no hear mate
Mike put me onto the vortex mufflers. Works very well with his remap and EGR removed.
Did a run to Perth about 6 weeks ago and averaged 10.2/100 going down siting on 110klms.
Averaged 10.8/100klms on the way back sitting on 100klms towing a boat. Round trip was 3,400 klms.
Had to keep a close eye on the tacho when flooring it to overtake the roadtrains as it just wants to keep going. Seems to get the exhaust gas moving out the back a lot better.
I have thought about the bigger intercooler as well but I am really happy with the setup now. I just want to fit those Bling Blue hoses now and maybe beef up the suspension a bit.
One very, very happy Disco TD5 owner..Thank-you again to the "Left Handed Genius" in Whyalla.

Hi Mike
If you got both ECUs could you wipe one ecu & copy the map & upload it to the 'cleaned' spare without the injector codes etc.giving a clone ecu back as the spare?:p

Welcome to Mount Gambier, you will get them removed for :D price!
Update: I found your post re Vortex, no more questions... I think

I bought mine from a guy on ebay in the UK. Autocraft 4x4 was the seller. Someone did say they had problems with this guy, but he was ok for me and the ecu was fine.

Let me get this straight?!
You have an ECU off your 04...
You have a spare...
You want the spare loaded with the map off the other one?
And you want the security codes disabled?

Mike, Clarification.
What I meant to say was that if you got 2 ECU, I being the original & the other being a new suitable & pin compatible spare (as was originally asked for in the 1st post) could you wipe one ecu & copy the map from your other one to it (the spare) Eg have a 04 auto disco ECU. get an 03 pin compatable ECU. Wipe 03 model & upload 04 data. Complete with same injector codes.
I wouldnt really do this but am interested to know if wiping & copying can be done. I do want a spare ECU as a std map incase my performance flashed one arks up. I am not concerned with security codes but if there a wiped I could swap ecus willy nilly.
Sorry for any confusion.
