I have dragged the boat out of its hidey hole and figure its time to try and shape it up for use one day, it has a 70 hp Johnno about a 1971 model with the electric gear shift, I run it over a reef 8 years ago and removed the gearbox and damaged the leg, I would like to use the same motor as its an old boat and the motor was fine up top, maybe someone might know of one somewhere thats run out I can strip for parts, its a 3 cylinder thing, OMC engine so same for Evinrude types, probably a long shot but who knows. PM me with any ideas. Cheers,

trawl the used boat sellers/repairers (as in dealers), you'll find what you need, or buy an entire boat with a complete donk for not much...

...keep the donk and flog off the rest...

a pride glass half cab on trailer with a similar motor went out of a backyard here, a few weeks back, for $800, was a nice package, would've bought it myself, but I already have one....

Old motors are like old cars they have use by dates, very few old timers out there working, I love the OMC stuff its so dependable, my hull is kind of unique I wouldnt swap it for anything, the engine is recessed into the transom the narrow Johno could swing in there no probs, only other motor that would fit would be a inline Merc 60 to 100 hp anymore would be dangerous to the user, merc anyone?
