Hi folks,

A mate of mine on the GC has just texted me

"Just sending message to let you know I have bought a hilux dual cab 4wd so I am ready to go somewhere to show you how it @#$! all over your disco"

Now this mate will have zero recovery gear so I'm looking for some tracks not too far from the GC, graded black with a touch of red.

Looking forward to some experienced advice.

Cheers,

MO

Give Pacific Pines a go... or the quarry down at Reedy Creek is good for a play

I've seen pics and vid of you guys at pac pines. Any chance of some directions?

Are the tracks on any maps?

Cheers.

I'm sure there are plenty of us locals that will assist in proving him wrong  and that way you can have a guided tour also. Just post up when you are looking at going and see if someone can show you the way in. Ormeau is the third of the local spots ;)

Sounds like a plan. Cheers.

no maps for Pac Pines that i know of... as for directions... head along smith st. towards pacific pines... about 100m before you hit the roundabout at the shopping centre; you will see a drop off and dirt road to your left... it goes down through a cople little holes then left into the bushes. Be aware though that a lot of mud holes in this area.

Reedy Creek quarry would be my main choice, off Old Coach Rd... just past the Motocross club

And as Stikman said, give us a hoy and sure someone will give you a tour... we have members near all tracks :D

This'll be good. I trust the excellent members of the GCLRO will be very helpful and will supply many videos of this event. Stevo will no doubt want to be your wingman - one white D3 and one black D3.

I'm already feeling a bit sorry for your mate:twisted::twisted::twisted:

Keep us all posted as to when this event occurs;) whiteD3

Why not do a run to Levuka (southwest of Woodenbong),
as there's been much rain lately, it should be pretty good fun there.

Thanks Guys, I'll agree a date and post it.

But keep in mind he is a mate of mine so "bruised, not broken" would be the order of the day;)

we don't want anyone scratched or damaged, and will assist him to find his way,
hell, i'll even tow him out!
the quarry is good for a novice, my last trip to pac pines was a bit tough as the tracks are cut deep in some places.

Bloody hell Harry, what's the fun in that

Dents are like trophies, should be signed and worn with honour....... Well in my case, but a $80K plus D3 that's a different story, hence why I like my Rangie for that reason :twisted::twisted:

Have fun, hope you give the 'gaylux' what for :2up:

Ormeau would be my Pic over Pac Pines, was in Pac Pines today with Bolts and it's quite wet in places. Ormeau has some good tracks to test both cars as does the quarry.......post up when you are going and if I'm free and you don't mind a tag a long, I'll join you and show you some tracks around the place.

Aye, Mick

....aaahhh....I think we're a bit confused here. The object of the exercise is to get a Hilux stuck (but undamaged), then rescued by an LR, all captured on video;).

It is not to dent my D3:o After paying for it, I can't afford any repairs:o:o:o:o

i havn't lost sight of that,
just say the day and we can do it, as i suggested, quarry is good at the moment with a varied assortment of dry hills and wet bits, and some mud for the lux.
i will only take him where he cam go until we know his, and his vehicle's capabilities.
i don't want dents either.

True, I like it that way. You break it then it's no stress to get to work the next day :D:D:D

But each to there own I guess. Being a daily driver limits the LR to certin things, I HATE that, plus as you know I like to push the limits with the blue beast :twisted::twisted:

If I had to drive my LR to work it wouldn't be the way that it is now

White D3, I know where you're coming from. To play hard, buy an old dunga for $2K, then dents as mentioned become a badge of houour plus the satrisfaction of attempting **** you would of thought impossible !!!!

I may have to check those tracks out aswell I have not had a chance to play in the mud since coming up and we are now getting an extra day off work as well, way ahead of schedule and the supplier cannot keep up with concrete segments so might aswell have a play.

Plus just finished replacing the stuffed winch cable with rope

I'm giving this some serious thought for next year, even if its just to have something to tinker with after work. Two problems being money (I'm working on that as usual) and skill (A motor mechanic I'm not).
