What brand drawers are they?

A Defender with out a towbar, you don't see many of them.

Here are a few more details - Drawers are from Outback and I also have a 100Amp hour Commander Deep Cycle Gel battery, controlled by Drivesafe's SC-40 - this is powering my compressor, Fridge and inverter.

Forgot the checker plate pic - black wingtops coming soon too (Austral still waiting for their arrival)...

Oh yeah - and here's the work light....

all looks great... is the bash plate an original accessory? or OL?

secondarily, how about a cargo barrier to keep all that loose stuff in the back where it belongs?

and fridge access? looks like might be a bit tight to get to easily?

Good questions - the bash plate is OL - I'm after a cargo barrier, new rear seats proclude the current Milford.

Fridge access is actually pretty good - strategic balancing act on rear step and right base of drawers and bingo - up and into it. I experimented at length with various fridge/water storage positions, I must say - I think this is the optimal use of space.

Yep - Got it in one.

Phoenix - I think the snorkel is identical to the TD5 (at least externally) but not 100% sure.

good answers :D

any reason why you didn't buy the underfloor/fender water tank OL sell? doesn't it fit the '07 defender? or was it too small for your purposes? (40 odd litres from memory). just asking as you obviously have done the research!

Indeed - I researched water tanks at length, I like the OL water tank and I understand the current one does fit - but as you alluded to - 40 litres just isn't enough - I like the manual nature of the Graeme Cooper tank I'm using and it holds 70 litres.

I may get the OL tank as a backup though - I am getting the aux fuel tank that fits in the other side and gravity feeds the main tank.

Speaking of bash plates, have you had any thoughts on protecting the handbrake drum?

It hangs down below the chassis. Do u reckon it's worth covering?

Hmm, nice one. Neat and tidy installation, with all the creature comforts.

Gives me an idea or two. I'm off to the hardware store for some more angle grinder disks, and maybe a few welding rods and some mig wire and some,, see ya.:p

I'm thinking that it might be worth considering a hand-disc-brake conversion. The disc brakes I have seen are much smaller, and hold heaps better too.

Looks good - are those rear seats factory???

There will be a good 2nd hand market for them in a few years...

They are a very good idea.
I've got a double acting cable operated job sitting on the bench for my Series 3 right now.

I was toying with building an hydraulic version, using big bike units, then I found the cable job. Good enough for the S3.

That sounds well expensive!

You can get new TD5 genuine AirFlow snorkels (made in Aust) from ebay for $325+ $10 postage:

if you guys are after a cheap 12v pump.......those shower kits you can get at places like k-mart and such
for around the $20 mark should do the trick.....

they have a submersible pump and a hose with a handheld showerhead.....
you just use the bits you need.....and discard the bits you dont.....
the price is right.....

if you only need small amounts of water.....you can simply use one of the little motors from a windscreen washer......
and hook that up to a simple push switch.......
(for those that have kids who forget to turn things off....)

just so you dont need to rely on gravity.......

just an idea.....
