Well I got a promotion!!!
Spent last week doing construction on the grader instead of maintence.
PASSED WITH FLYING COLOURS AND SOME!!!!
Your peers are your harshest critics.
The team all put their votes of confidence in,I gave it my best and blitzed it!!!!
Positions swaped the other bloke is now maintence grader driver:D:D:D:D:D
What sealed it was the boss sneaked out and listened in on the 2 way.I was running my trucks dumping/topping up as needed, directing the water truck, sorting the roller driver as I belive I should.I had know idea he was lurking for a couple of hours listening in.The leading hand has been trying to do this as the OTHER bloke couldnt resulting in STRESS TENSION STRESS!!!!
EVERYBODY on the team bar 1 are over the moon.
Great career step for me,as I was ready to quit and go mining come January,as I was sick of the stuff going down.
Lollypop boy to construction grader driver in 4 1/2 years,Im stoked!!!!

G'day LandyAndy :)

Well Done :) congratulations Andrew, another 4-5 years could see you as Foreman, as you seem to have the co-ordination skills required to keep a project running smoothly, so therefore job time is reduced and budget are withing estimates:)

cheers

Thanks for the pats on the back guys.
First job finished today, well the prep. All the gravel carted(5000m3),road formed up packed down, looks great.
We go back after the xmas break rip it all up,waterbind it,pack it down then seal it.
The road is way too busy now to do any more, plenty of roadtrains carting hay and grain, they take some dodging!!!
Leading hand was rapt,he put a carton on after work today!!!

I think it was a CAT,,

Did not know about that one.
Have seen a few adventurous people driving Chamberlain Champion 9G tractors around AU, towing caravans.
We have one of those tractors on our farm. It was a cross between sports car and tractor :D
