Looking at the following note book for work, amongst a whole heap of other gear for the staff etc but need some advice before buying.

ASUS W7S, 13.3"WXGA, C2DT7500 (2.2G), 512M+1G,160G,VBU, DL,
Black includes office 2007 basic Vista

I am migrating from an LG LS50a Intel Pentium M Processor 1.4GHz~1.7GHz ATI Mobility Radeon 9600/9200 15" SXGA+ TFT LCD Intel pro/wireless 2100or 2200BG dvd/CD-RW Combo or DVD+-RW multi card reader running XP Pro

Now I have no idea what all these numbers mean but I am hoping that the ASUS note book is faster and able to store more crap like my itunes etc and I really only use Word, Excel, and Outlook so Office basic is fine. I know this is a newbie how long's a piece of string question but as trhis is going to be my main machine for the next couple of years, any advice is appreciated.

smaller screen, faster cpu, you dont mention the size of the hdd on the old one but 160 sata is a good sized laptop drive, and 2 year warranty...

qld rec retail is about $2299 for the laptop but you can usually get them a fair bit cheaper from the high volume low support sellers.

ASUS are a very good brand of notebook. would be one of my first choices.

VISTA BASIC IS A DOG OF AN OS AND I DON'T RECCOMEND IT!
Tell em to swing in 'home Premium' for the same cost...:) If they say no then walk away. Basic = yuk

Cheers Grimace, running Vista Business and it seems pretty good so far although still trying to navigate through certain parts plus I also upgraded to Office 2007, which seem good too.
