My SRS light comes on with a chime. My D3 is a 2005 build. After the car was about 18 months old it would come on infrequently. Black Forest said it was a loose connector and it was OK for about 6 months. It then came on frequently and Black Forest changed the "coil spring" assembly in the steering wheel. It was OK for 6 months but now it happens almost every time I drive the vehicle. It seems to be when the steering is turned as I can drive long distances on the highway without the error. Any one else had the same problem:(

If you mean the SRS indicator as shown by No 5 in the picture below then I had a similar problem.

Your Dealer has identified that the fault is with the rotational conenctor between the steering wheel and steering column. I had to visit my Dealer 3 times before they found the fault since it was intermittent.

It was fixed permanently with replacement of this connector 15 months ago. So if yours was changed maybe it has gone faulty again.

Chris

Chris, That is the light I am talking about. I had the "clock spring" changed at the dealer here just before they lost the franchise to another mob here. I always had exceptional service from them since 1994 with my Disco's. Any how I will book it in with the new mob and see how good they are:) I want it fixed as my warranty ends mid April 2008. Other than that no problems with the vehicle:D

Well this problem almost fixed. The "clock spring" was replaced by Black Forest but they had abraded a wire in the mechanism which was shorting and causing the problem. A new assembly is on order. However another ugly problem has reared its head. See new post on "Turbo":o
