What oil pressure ( in psi ) does the 300 TDi run at? I am after a gauge and need to know what range I should get.

Mine goes to around 50 psi when cold on start up and drops to around 35-40 when at operating temp.

all depend on the oil and its condition.
mine runs at 60-65 psi cold and then about 30 psi when warm at tick over and 40 something on a run - using Penrite HPR Diesel and Morey's additive.
I run Speco elec gauges

Found on the RAVE CD Oil pressure should be 25-55psi at normal operating speeds.

Id be getting one that runs up to 80psi for 2 reasons
1. it will have enough in reserve to deal with spikes and mild overpressures if soemthing goes wrong with the relief valving
2. it should put 40psi which is about middle of the range for oil pressure up near the top and where possable I like to set gauges up so that normal is vertical even if it means twisting the gauge in the housing.
