Well guys I have not been around much due to work/family. Now I must also bid you great guys @ GCLRC fairwell.
If the rules are still the same as I heard last, when my Disco gets traded this week for the wifes new Pajero I will no longer be a member.
I do accept this and think its fair enough.
So thanks for the fun times and the odd recovery and I hope to run across some of you again 4wding

Mark sorry to see a D3 not replacing the Disco. Has been a pleasure doing the few trips with you that I did. Have fun in the Pajero they have certainly come a long way.

Rover Park wont be the same without you, let me tell you.

If you are opening an outlet in Tweed, let me know.

Justin

PS You can still be a member Mark as long as you are financial. Existing members can drive and own another brand no probs.

Bloody shame to see another LR owner crossing over to the 'boring' side but we all have our reasons for these decisions.

I'm surprised that you haven't sold your Disco yet, it's pretty good value with all the gear on it :(

I cant remember, did we change the rules if a member bought another marque?
Mate, very sorry to see you go however, you and your family are most welcome to join us on trips anytime, so keep an eye on the forum. As Justin said, Rover Park and any camp fire for that matter are made that bit more memorable with your fantastic banter:D

Regards to the family and keep us posted. If you can we are planning another trip to Fraser around the middle of next year so perhaps we may see you there.

All the best, Mick G

A damn shame to lose you as a landy freak Mark, but as Justin said, if you stay financial than there are no problems with sticking with the club.... besides it'll give us a chance into talking you into another landy, even if a classic series or ex-mil as a toy :D
All the best if we don't see you again but hope that you will stay in contact.
cheers

Mate sad to see the Landy go, but thats no excuse not to attend trips and have a cold beer sitting by a warm fire...anyways the pajero with inderpendant front end should run smooth up the beach, so why havent i seen your name on the Bribie trip???

Well took the new Pajero to Landcruiser pk for the past 3 days, what can I say hmmmmm
DONT SELL YOUR LAND ROVER
Nice on the road but that is they belong.
No ground clearance **** poor departure angles (rear).
So wifey can keep the Pajero and I am looking for another Land rover.
Might have to sell my other new toy though
520hp HK Premier:( cant have too many toys;)

I drove a new Pajero for work last month. As you say they are great road cars but looking RAV4 drivers in the eye at the lights took some getting used to :o

Now on any other day NOz, I would disagree with you here, but given the fact that this potential sale may facilitate another LR in your collection, I can see the logic;):D

Would be great to see you back out with us on some trips soon....we have a few god ones booked in for this year.

Take it easy and hope to see you soon, Mick

I agree, that's where those soft cock 4WD belong, on beaches and on the road :wasntme:. If you want to do proper 4WDing, but a Land Rover :twisted::twisted:

Plenty of cheap D1's about, especially the V8 models.

****ing oath that was (and I know that it was NOZ' old beast). I'm not into diesels, I would have looked at that for that sort of money if I was in the market.

Yeah thanks Justin;), I should have kept the old bugger.
I might look for a D2 V8 this time, have to wait and see if I can come to part with my HK Premier.

That's what ****s you about trade-ins, you get **** all for it and you know it's worth a hell of a lot more not just in dollars but in the time and effort in setting up the vehicle. In hindsight (although not always practical) is to keep the vehicle and just pay a few extra bucks on the lease/loan on the new vehicle.

D2 V8 is a great option, but for an off-roader and weekend play vehicle, I would look at something a bit cheaper. That way if you break/scratch/dent it, the agony of it isn't really going to matter.
