I need to get the 82 RRC through a NSW Blueslip what isn't needed for this type of rego inspection?

Things like rear window heater/demister, roof lining, carpets, stereo's etc....

This thing will strictly be for club runs so will only see bitumen going to and from 4wd jaunts. Weight reduction will be a must so I'd prefer not to add weight just to take it out after an inspection.

The question is what can I get away without and still get through an inspection?

You should be OK if the rear demister isn't working. Do you have a pair of door mirrors ?
If so, then you should be OK.

The carpet won't be a problem but no carpet means that the examiner will be able to easily see any firewall holes that aren't sealed up.

Roof lining - no problem.

Stereo - you're kidding !!
After removing the carpet, roof lining & whatever other insulation you can get your hands on, a stereo big enough to hear will weigh 1/2 a ton :D.

I'm sure that you're aware that a blue slip inspection is quite tough to pass.
Make sure all the bushes are A1.
Give all the oil leaks a wipe over just before the inspection.
Make sure the seat belts are in good order.
The seats need to be free from tears so maybe fit a cheap set of covers.
Fix the horn ;).
Headlight aim.

I'm sure there's more......
