G'day all,

My Rangie isn't getting used and it's been a sad 2007 for me as far as club trips go, so for 2008m I hope to change that. I was having horrible thoughts of selling it due to lack of use in general, but would like to rectify that ASAP.

Keen for a run out to the Glasshouse Mtns (also known as Beerwah). This would be for EXPERIENCED members only so not for begenners :(.

Lockers are handy but most tracks can be driven unlocked, mud terrain tyres are the bare minimum on lock and unlocked vehicles (especially with all the mud around ATM).

Dunno who would be interested (or equipped for it, I know the usual suspects would :twisted::twisted:) but 4 vehicles would be a minimum for it to be worthy of a trip. I was thinking the 12th January (2 weeks from now on a Saturday), starting at the BP Caboolture at 8AM. It's a long day but well worth the drive IMO.

PM if you're keen. Mods you can put thread in the trip section if you see fit

Justin

ps I am also getting over pneumonia at the moment so I'll be feeling like **** for a few weeks running up big hills is a definate no no.

Hope you're feeling okay now. The old man had pneumonia mid year and I had to force him to stay home from work for a week (Dad is a stubborn old bastard ).

Justin, I am open to ideas and whatever date to get the best turnout I'm open to. late Feb/Early March for an 'official' trip souds great if I can get enough intereest (Mick if you read this, maybe a scheduled trip for that time, pick a date that suites as AM I'm open to any weekend then).

But the 12th gives me a good opputunity to do a decent reccee and a couple of vehicles would be a bonus. may I add that any help is appereciated, it's a big area and I know it's a bloody long hike from your neck of the woods especially :(

Sorry Trav I would love to (Beerwah is a great place :D) but I'm not 100% happy with my vehicle at the moment so will hold off for now.

The whole trip-to-Cooma finance thingy is starting to weigh on my head also, don't want to risk breaking something expensive at the moment

What's wrong with your dunga now Grimace :( I do have a spare seat if you're worried about damaging the Rangie.

Stikman, The date is a definate. I know it's a Saturday and it doesn't suit most, but Sunday arvo traffic from the Sunshine coast is a dead set nightmare and it'l be late before anyone gets home (esp from the GC :eek: ).

Navron, I'm sure there's someone with a spare seat. Guy might have one so ask him.

We have 2 definates not inc. me, so now it's a trip. This isn't an 'official' trip hence why it's posted in the general section. List as follows-

Aquarangie
Psimpson7
Wheel Nut

Com'on you lot, where's your sense of adventure :eek::twisted::twisted: Plenty of mud and the tracks should be quite a task to conquer, the way I like it.

UPDATE- Please those interested contact me via PM or on 0420969076 before Friday to confirm. I don't want to be driving up there only to be left to my lonesome!!!

OMG another thing I forgot to mention i I am now unable to attend this trip.... you want to know the reason.... Josh your goin to laugh...

A FREAKIN BDAY...! I am starting to feel stoopid, I did not think it was possible, I think I have had a bday to attend on more than 80% of official and unofficial club trips/meetings.

I got the call last night, the actual bday is on the 9th, but on the morning of the 12th we ment to be goin to Mt Tambourine's Thuderbird Park for the day and night, to enjoy the creek side camping and the rope course/horse riding etc etc

I can't beleive it...

No worries, what's his real name (forgot that's all). Or you can tel him that it's okay, just meet at the Berburrum post office if coming up from Caloundra.

No worries, shame you won't be able to make the trip. Maybe next time.

Get him to PM me if he's interested and this is not an official GCLRO trip so he's more than welcome.

Called it off due to the rain. From a bit of digging around on other forums it seems to be the best option not to go and tear-**** around, damaging the tracks. Public access is harder ans harder to get so it's best we look after what we have left.

Never mind, will try and run this trip again after it dries up a bit.

You would have found the tracks closed anyway.

The Forestry blokes put those big electronic signs up ( like the ones at roadworks) just down the road from us at the common access point to Beerwah SF every time we get heavy rain. I imagine you'd be very unpopular if you were found in the SF with the tracks closed!! :(

Probably made the right call there.
If its ever doubtful I can always do the 5min drive down the road to see if the tracks are open....:)

Good to know, will PM you next time we're up that way for that

I like to play hard, but not tear **** around the place that's just yobbish and stupid. As I mention we don't need the do-gooders to find more ammo for there anti-4WD campaigns do e.

have a great weekend. At least the sun's out :D
