Hi all. I have kept my 95 Disco V8 in excellent condition (just put all Australian Bosch ignition system in it too!). However I have 3 children and when we all go in the truck, one kid only gets a lap belt in the centre. We generally try to go in my D2 where they all get a lap/sash belt. I was going to keep the 95 as a long termer but this problem nags at me and I have decided that unless I cant get say a D2 rear seat into the D1, then I have to sell it.

Anyone considered this problem and looked at possible solutions?

Cheers

My suggestion would be to get a harness from most auto accessory stores (and Kmart, Big W etc) They can be bought for less than $50. The lap sash goes through the hoops in the bottom then the harness goes up over the shoulders. The harness is terminated in a clip that connects to your child anchorage point (assuming you have one... they can be bought and installed relatively cheaply if not.)

These are safer than a lap sash belt anyway.

No worries being a D1 the catch is the anchorage points are just above the rear door so it is a bit of a pain if you have a load in there. (Can send you picks of setup if you need.

Thanks matey. I have used anchor points before for car seats, but didnt know you could get just the harness. I rang around and Babyco have the harness that can be used without the booster (the one you were talking about) for $43. It will do up to 32kg. I wonder if you can get a similar set up for when they are adults (or above 32kg at least) - perhaps some sort of racing harness (although they normally attach to a dedicated bucket seat.

Cheers

I think the issue over that would be the weight being transferred to the anchorage point. Glad that got sorted for you.
