Hi all, I've been getting up to a bit of 4WD'ing over the holidays and am pleased to say that i'm well and truly hooked. I'm going to do a bit of water-proofing to the distributor and coil as i have found them to be a bit of a problem when crossing water. Last trip out i sprayed the whole lot with silicone after reading some old threads on here and found it to work quite well, though something a little more permanent would suit me better. I'm also going to put a snorkle on as well. But the biggest thing i've noticed is ground clearance, while not terrible, it could be better. So i'm thinking of a lift kit, though not sure which way to go. I'll be shoving some bigger rubber under her later in the year when the current stuff should have worn out. Nothing to big. I was thinking maybe 32"s? Any suggestions as to what sort of lift kit i should be looking for? The budget wont go top of the line, more something middle of the road.
Cheers
Shane
P.S. some pics of said 4WD'ing

Yeah the King Springs will give a good soft setup, OME are probably a bit better for touring as they're stiffer than King. If you're after a softer spring the ones from LRA (Rangie Spares/Graeme Cooper) may also be worth looking at.
If you're chasing travel, the OME are good shocks, though if you're chasing control go the Bilstein, but they don't necessarily travel as well as the OME shock. The other option that may be worth investigating is the fitment of Landcruiser shocks which apparently work well, though I'm not up to speed with which LC shocks and whats needed to make them work.

I have not read good things on the forum about my latest edition which was tough dog shocks and springs. I have a defender though. But they are not to expensive and so far I have found them a really good system. I went up 40mm.
