I have recently come back to Oz after a lengthy stay in the UK – where I picked up my Defender 200Tdi – and now that we are here, I need to know a good mechanic – I have tried a couple local places – but have not had the service I was hoping for. Rather than continue to randomly try out garages, can anyone recommend a mechanic who knows LRs (their clunks, grinding and leaks)?? Any recommendations appreciated.
Have a few jobs building up (stop solenoid keeps fowling, radiator not so good, clunk on a left turn etc) and I want to make sure these get looked into by someone who you can ‘trust’.
Cheers,
Brett

It would help if you filled in your location or told us where "local" is - not much point in singing the praises of a mechanic in Perth if you live in Cairns for example.

Obviously not yet used to distances in Australia compared to the squeezy tiny place you came from recently

on this subject matter, I've noticed a few posts that seem to allude to the fact that there may be issues with Graeme Cooper - Ward seems to know his stuff re Td5s - has anyone found to the contrary?

Yes we need to know your location before we recommend a LD Spanner to fix your rig
It would be interesting if in a separated thread you can tell us the cost, paper work and headaches in bring a Landy to Oz

You must have been there yourself! When a listed 'great 4x4 drive' turns out to only be 3 miles long - you know you are in trouble......

Done - thanks for that - I didn't realise I hadn't put the details in...
