Hello,
Would any one be able to suggest a source for a new or exchange injection pump for a 1999 Freelander L series Diesel. I have been quoted by my local dealer that they can no no longer supply exchange units and can only supply new at $3674.75 two weeks delivery. My local diesel specialist said he would need to send it to the mainland because of it being EDC (I am in Tasmania near Launceston) which would cost anywhere between $1500 and $2500 to rebuild.
The problem is that the car wont run or start anymore, have had the error codes checked which found No1 injector electrical senor fault, which was replaced. However still no go, after checking more I noticed while cranking the engine and cracking the injector pipe nut there only seemed to be a pulse of fuel not the usual squirt you would expect. I then removed the fuel cut off solenoid on the pump only to find metal particals so the pump has some issues.
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
