LPG gauges

How accurate is your LPG gauge? Do the led's slowly drop showing gas usage or are they like mine and show anything but the actual level of gas left in tank? Sometimes it will indicate 3/4 full, the next moment the red light is on indicating no gas left, then back to half etc.etc. Jim

Mine's exactly the same, Jim!
I covered the gauge in black tape to hide it and judge the fuel level via the trip meter.. the red 'empty' LED really bugged me, even when I knew there was plenty of gas left!;)

I am not aware of any guage that will give an 100% accurate measure of the amount of fuel in your tank, the best way is to use your odometer, then you have to consider the ambient temperature you are driving in, the weight on your right foot, the type of LPG system on the car as well

Mine never worked until the sender was repaired. Seems fine now. Not extremely accurate and i still use the odometer to work it out (habbit). I usually don't worry cos i just switch to petrol when it runs out anyway.

If you have twin lgp tanks its even worse, i was told to move the guage sender to the tank with the longest outlet house to the hydrostatic T valve so at least when you are in the red it is fairly accurate.

MInes not even connected. It's a second hand tank with a non-compatible sender.

Mine works OK until the last 3 Led lights are showing. It stays there until with no warning you run out. Lucky for me I'm dual fuel. :D

My RRC guage used to remain on the 1st light for about 1/4 of a tank before ripping through the next 8 lights in less than 1/2 a tank, and then remain on the red light for the last 1/4+. It was good when the old man borrowed the car because he would see the red light and go straight to fill it with gas, even though I would get over 100k's on that light. My Disco stays on the 1st light for about 1/4 of a tank, but then is pretty consistent with its readings for the next 6 lights.
