hello peeps!!

just wanted to know if anyone knew of some good seats that can be put in replace of a drivers seat in a 96 discovery

i'm after a seat with good lumbar support not really after a major bucket

i'm having a lot of back trouble and i really dont think the disco seat is helping.....so looking into changing it

any suggestions???

There's always the seats from a top end Disco with adjustable lumbar support. I found them very good in my SE7 97 Disco, better than the Td5 one's actually.

Of course you could always put Defender seats into it ;)

i'll agree with this comment, i have an es7 weith leather seat's and the lumber support is much better than a standard disco seat.
the other option is to have your seats recovered and have extra padding put in.

I have a really bad back and I fitted in the motorhome Mazda 626 bucket seats from an old model.
They are fantastic, find some and test them. Another good one is the ones from Holden Rodeo.

i dont actually think that the disco seat suits me full stop..........its hard to explain i have quite a long back and i find it hard to sit into a disco seat the defender seat suits me alot more but on long journeys tends to make the top half of my back ache rather than the bottom

i kind of need something between a disco and a defender

is there any legality problems with changing seats??

It is not a legal problem, you just have to take it to an authorized place where they install bucket seats. I fitted the seats in the motorhome and they inspected the mounting and the seat belts and give me the certificate. It is good to do it in case of an accident.
I made an adapter plate to use the same anchor location of the original seat. In this way they can not reject the job.
