1) If anyone has a stereo from a late model classic RR (the one with the cd stacker and 3 million speakers) that they aren;t using, I;d appreciate it. I'll even buy it if its the right price and location.
2) Alternatively....
I have been thinking of going down the Ipod / Bluetooth compatible had unit teamed with an Ipod route.
What systems would be 'plug in' options for me ? ie would handle the speaker set up that these RR's have.
nyone else done this ?
I'd be very appreciative of help and guidance as the radio in the RR has packed it in this morning and the missus hates being musicless and she MUST have a radio as she likes all that breakfast show drivel !

Any good Pioneer, Kenwood or Alpine head unit should do. You will be looking at about $350 up for a unit with bluetooth and ipod connectivity. I just put a Kenwood unit in my parents Commodore and it is a great unit and was only $249 mp3/wma player and tuner. For Bluetooth and ipod you need the next model up.
My pick would be the new Pioneer at about $450, can not remember the model number off the top of my head. I put Pioneer in the Rangie and in the Fender. All of these units have the ability to control a cd stacker as well.

I missed out on these and im kicking myself. Im sure i could have got a new stereo for my rangie and sold off the rest to cover the cost.

What's wrong with the original radio ?
Dead completely ?
I'm just asking because that particular radio can be a PITA to get the code accepted sometimes.
You can send it to Eurovox in Melbourne or a local agent if there's any up your way.

Mike
I bought an LR genuine head unit from Glenn (out of his Disco) to put into my classic, but never ran with it.
I tested it and it does work, if you want a quick fix.
Give me a shout

Vlad give me details of what u have ..model numbers etc as I have 3 units from rangies genuine eurovox with codes and 4 or 5 stackers of different models.
Whats wrong with the original? It probably can be fixed without too much drama:D
They are a really good unit but dont have any of the mod cons..blutooth etc etc.
I used to repair these for a living till I closed up the business..hence why I have these

Tape bung (it always has been, who cares)
The other day - controls for CD stacker failed to proceed.
Today - radio failed to proceed.
So yeah I reckon the head unit is at fault and its pretty major I'd think.
Where would I find the model number etc ?

If you call Drive Sound at Chapel Hill in Brisbane, he is an authorised dealer for Eurovox and I believe he also has access to get the codes if you're missing them, just need to quote the serial number of the unit in question

If the original had an ISO connector then its easy to fit any stereo you like using an Aerpro adapter loom.

OK I managed to remove the stereo from my Defender using 4 wooden skewers in lieu of the soecial eurovox radio removal tool. Unfortunately trying to remove the same model stereo (the LR original equipment one) from the Rangie has proven more problematic. Any tips ?

UPDATE:
OK I removed the radio from my recently acquired Defender 130 (which is a identical to the Rangie radio so probably came from one!), and installed it in place of the old one.
No joy, and no sound.
This MAY have something to do with the fact I tripped over the damned cat and dropped the 'new' (previously working) radio about 3 feet onto a concrete fllor) or perhaps it may not. The tuner seek function isnt working, the cd controller isn't but even with the vol turned all the way up, and radio on there is NO sounf AT ALL.
This seems a strange coincidence, but I can't think of any non-radio thing that would manifest this way ? A wiring fault / open circuit perhaps ? I'm confused and unhappy to have a Rangie with no tunes in it !
Maybe I need to buy a new stereo and get it fitted and be done.
I want - CD stacker control (to mate with OE stacker) and IPOD connectivity (or at the very least somewhere to plug one in)
Help !

Sigh.
The state of play is:
1. As noted above, the original stereo still has the same problems.
2. The other 'RR' style stereo I have, when plugged up doesn;t seem to work at all either. There are 2 red and 2 white (audi obviouly) plugs coming out the back of the stereo with nowhere to plug them in BUT (I hope) I think this is ok because I think that the remainign maze of wires and giant plugs carries the wiring for the various speakers in this car. (If there are any experets on here PLEASE let me know).
3. A spare radio that Inc gave me doesn't work / fit at all. Adaptor loom or not.
Help !!!!!!!!!!

Vlad dropping the radio on concrete has probably cracked the cct board.
Can u send me some pics of the plug and wiring?
Ta
I still have 2 or 3 eurovox radios here that will power up and control stacker out of Rangies and disco's.

You want pics of the plugs in the rover or on the radio - and if the latter - which radio.

I'm sure the radio works it's just that it doesn't have the right plugs set up for the Rangie. Put it back where it came from and I'm sure it'd be fine.
