The caravan place I visit said that in certain circumstances you cant put batteries and gas bottles on the front A frame together---
anybody know about this?

Never heard of it before.
Some campers have a battery in a plastic box, in front, along side a gas bottle.
An exposed battery may not be a good idea, just in case some metal fell across it.
Other than that I cannot see why it would not be allowed.
Kimberley Kampers had a battery in front of the storage box and a gas bottle to one side.

Unless they mean both inside the box on the A frame.
I had a friend recently suggest I get a 3 way fridge, put in in the A frame box and run it on gas. i didn't like that idea as that is where the battery was going and it is a sealed box. I also didn't want to vent the box due to the dust getting in.
Otherwise no idea why they would say that.

you shouldnt put the gas bottle and the battery (or swithcboard + power inlet) in the same compartments.
In reality unless something goes wrong its not going to be a problem even if you do. But If its going to be a problem its going to be a spectacular one.
you can put both on the aframe together but both must be adequately protected.
