As good as the consoles are that you can buy ready made, I wasn't prepared to pay the $$$ that they want for them.

So, during the Christmas break I made my own for a total cost of $13.80!!!!!!! plus the best part of three days.

The front attaches to the original light mountings, and at the rear, two large screws replace the plastic plugs in the join in the hood lining (I don't like making holes if I don't have to).
It houses the AM & UHF CBs, scanner, reversing camera screen & relocated interior light.

Larry.

The hardest part was getting the profile right. It's just 4 pieces of plywood covered in some vinyl.

I only thought afterwards that I should have taken some photos as I went along.

thats really nice larry was considering doing something like that for the disco it just hurts my brain to think how to attach it :(.........

how are you supporting the radios on the inside???

also in regards to the fitting did you leave the rear panel like that so you can stick your arm down to enable you to screw the front up to the light fitting??

The radios are screwed to the plywood with their supplied brackets.
There is a small removeable panel at the front (like the rear) to access the front mounts, & the back one is to get to the rear screws.

nice work. I've been meaning to build one of these for ages, but i'm paronoid of people seeing the dangling microphone cords hanging down, then smashing my window to steal my uhf and hf.

Although i could just unplug the mics........... hey make me one too, who do i make the 13.80 money order out to?:D
