After the best method for replacing door seals on a 2 door Rangie? What's the easiest way of getting the new seals into the channels around the door?
Also, the channel along the sill has rusted out (as they do), how should I replace this?
TIA

Interesting question. They should fit over the lip (tightly tho), but youll need to cut and weld the rust out. What ive done is removed the carpet and the alloy plate that sits near the doors, leaving just clean floor for me to wipe up mud/water etc, preventing rust.

With that alloy tray out of the way they just push in.
Of course you'll have to get the rust sorted first.

There is no channel on the sill, the alloy cover clamps the seal in place.

There is a channel on my Rangie and the 1980 I used to have. The rust's not that bad on the sill, just the seal channel (from all the crud that's been collected over the years been the sill and the seal). The channel runs along the side of the sill from front to back of door aperture. The alloy plate really only holds down the carpet /floor covering as far as I can see. I'll try to get a pic over the weekend.
Thanks guys.

On my 81 rangie ,the top of the seal sits ina groove in the sill plate and is clamped to the sill when the screws are done up, this is the wide piece for the door bottom and the seal inner side is flat with nothing to sit in a channel unlike the other 3 sides ? I welded in new sills and there was no channel on the old sections- only the bottom section was rusted out.

Back to this! I managed to finally get a day to spend on the Rangie and took some pics for this.
The sills themselves are fine - no rust but as you can see, the channels are rusted in parts. Can I get replacement channels (or other options?) to slide the seals back in?
