As I am looking at buying the new Fender I have had my ears to the ground regarding any issues cropping up.
I heared in a local forum that the LHD vehicles have the prop shaft connecting the sump when going through a deep pothole.
Do you guys have LHD in Auz and if so any similar reports.
Someone sugested I rather wait for a year incase any faults need to be ironed out before buying a new one here.
The only thing is RSA is that new car sales have hit rock bottom and the dealer I went to see was already offering R20,000 discount on the asking price.

There was a recent thread on the subject from a site in Germany ( Att 2007 Defender Engine Sump Gets Damaged (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/46414-att-2007-defender-engine-sump-gets-damaged.html) ). The problem seemed to be on Defenders with raised suspension and the wrong panhard rod or the wrong setting on an adjustable panhard rod.

The problem would be present on both LHD and RHD as the diff, prop shaft and sump positions are the same irrespective of the side of the driving position.
