Hello to all members.
Is there a rail kit for the defender seats that would make more legs room for people over 6 ft.
If not could the exsisting rail be lengthened by buying an extra set and welding 3 to 4 inches on !
Thank you

Yes,
This mob in th UK make them :
MUDSTUFF.CO.UK - About us - Have you got MUD? - Land Rover Solutions (http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/aboutus.html)
I have bought a console from them and they are good to deal with. Freight out of the UK is expensive though.
With mine I just made up rails out of 40mm square tubing. This raised the seats up 40mm without impinging on the leg space for rear passengers. It is also a good idea to put a nylon spacer block where the bolts go through into the tube. Adds a bit of support where the hole weakens the tube structure. 40mm painted tube is about $40 a length (6m). You can buy standard plastic caps to seal the ends and paint as required.
This does not alter the rail at all, just lifts the seat base. I think the rail kits fro Mud Stuff also allow the seat to go back further.

All you need is a couple of lengths on box section to use as a spacer under the rails. Drill a couple of holes, fit a couple of longer bolts and "Hey Presto!". :D

The main advantage is the extra height lets the rail clear the lip at the top of the bulkhead and therefore get more legroom.

You should be able to cut 1 or 2 more notches into the sliders for a bit more backwards travel, as well as raising them to clear the step at the back.
