One shot grease for wheel bearings?

I am doing some work on my Defender front hubs/swivels. The hubs to now have been running in oil from the swivel (hub oil seal removed). Am proposing to go to one-shot grease for the hubs/swivels. Are there any problems with using the one-shot as a wheel bearing lubricant as well as a cv joint lube? Advice would be much appreciated.

Dunno. Is a molybdenum disulphide grease appropriate for roller bearings? I thought it wasn't.

Why not use proper high temp wheel bearing grease, e.g., Castrol HTB?

because he's running oil lubed bearings, Ron ;)

IIRC, MoS2 doesn't like really high temps as can be experienced when discs are really cooked, but who gets their brakes that hot these days ?
There is talk of it not being used in needle rollers and roller bearings, but a number of reputable companies use a % of moly in gear lubes, and most all diffs run taper roller bearings, and Redline use the soluble version (more stable) in their race/ultra high temp wheel bearing grease.

Crikey, I've always used Castrol LMM for uni joints and never worn one out in twenty years, let alone had one fail because I've used, moly fortified grease in a needle roller.

Thanks for the feedback. I think that I will give the grease a go. Molytex EP 00 (which I believe is what one-shot is) is claimed to be 'multipurpose' and, whilst perhaps not ideal for wheel bearings, should do the job for the bearings and cv. Temp should not be a big problem - is hardly a race car!

Mine got into the bearings through the seals and I never worried about it.I doubt you would find a landy that doesn't have mixed up lubes regarding Diff,stub axle,cv joints. Pat

Exactly. Everytime I've drained the front diff it's been full of moly from the swivels.
