D2 99 hooks jointed drive shaft?

I have been told that my 99 TD5 should have a hooks jointed front shaft rather than the 2 standard Universals. Is this right or just another of those later model upgrades?

If you mean a DC joint I can tell you that my TD5 99 has one of these.

Ran another thread in "technical' http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/49943-d2-99-hooks-jointed-drive-shaft.html and had some success.

When swapping between D1 and D2 front shafts the flange on the transfer case needs to be changed also......
