Can anybody give approx cost of pump o/haul on 300tdi.Mine blows heaps of black smoke after comlete engine rebuild 3000klms ago Injectors new approx 12,000 k,s also turn off key disiel still keeps running cut of switch replaced 2 weeks ago worked fine until friday.

I was quoted $1500 from my local bosch diesel service guy

before you consider that option ,re time your pump and check that the diaphram from the turbo has not seized , make sure no intercooler hose has ruptured , Only twice in my career have I had to have a bosh pump redone and that was caused by water, here in eire the cost is about 250 e to 500 e

Talked to a service guy that was recommended and he quote $1500-$2000 without seeing it .Talking to him he seemed pretty sure of problem and will walk me through it.

Could the timing belt be out by a notch? I had a similar thing.
