opening attachment while in outlook

when i receive an email with .jpg files and i go to open them i get the following message

Application not found

any ideas on what o need to do, its annoying having to save them to the hard drive first

Either you don't have a program to open them (strange) or the file type jpg is not associated with the program(s) you've got.

Download and install IrfanView. Great freeware program which somebody on the forum put me onto.

i'm running xp....no problems withthe laptop

when i righ click i do not get an option of open with
