Ok I got one what now?
The world hasn't changed, The sky is still vibrating blue (not a typo or gramatical error)
What should I be expecting from this vehicle problem wise?
Got the 4 speed so the gearbox should be ok, sals rear so thats ok, are there any problems with the engines I should look out for
It's done 266000km's
Don't ask how much I paid, It'll upset you all.

At the least I'd get a diesel shop to check the injectors and pump timing and set the valve gaps. If you want to check the health of the engine you might ask them to do a compression test too. To do this they should keep it overnight so it is stone cold when they do the do the test.

Yes it is, complete BS
but if you send me your mobile number I'll rev the engine and you can hear the unmistakable sound of my teeth shaking whilst I drive my imaginary car.

There's always one!...........if you've just bought it you should have a fair idea!!, hmmmm, maybe not.....at that price see Land Rover 110 1984-1989 'maintainence' and Isuzu Diesel 'rebuild'.

Fair comment, however, for the price I paid I can budget for a rebuild or a used 4bd1t if necessary.
The car is overall in resonable nick, a few dings and scratches but it is an old car you expect that.
Mechanically the car is fine, interior is in excellent nick, chassis is great.
I was asking age related issue questions, like driveline issues at certain kilometres, stuff like that.

Lucky, lucky, lucky.
Sounds like something is wrong if the world hasn't changed.
When the magic wears off I'm looking for one.:D

Ok, investigate any leaks, make sure you check everything that needs oil, don't forget the swivel hubs, the rest will tell you as you drive it, just replace everything with quality parts over time, and you'll see another 2-500k, out of most components, subject, of course, to driving conditions and abuse...........

Cmon, for $2.5k, you don't think you're about to find out why?
you fail to take into consideration the fact that only paying 2.5k I can afford to find out why, fix the problem, and still come out better off than most purchasers of these vehicles.
A lot better off

I love it the low range gearing it's awesome, the sound of the 4bd1 is so sweet it's unbelievable. Offroad this is the best Landy I have owned to date. No TC, HDC, no auto box ( you don't need it just select a gear from start up and accelerate) no body you have to worry about, just a heap of low down torque. I have to admit these are the best secrets in the Land Rover world. The perfect mixture of English and Japanese old yet proven technologies. The only thing that let me down over the last few days was the tyres, Simex's will go on when the exhaust is re routed.
Photo's will come when DiscoSteve or George130 gets here with their cameras, or Relay uploads one or two. Hopefully this afternoon.

Looks like a good buy.
The front axle tube will bend if used a lot off-road. So if you (or someone you know) is handy with a welder it would be a good idea to laminate it.
