Disco TD5 Hoses to be changed.

I'm looking to overhaul my cooling system in the TD5, i've checked 2 differant suppliers for part no's and descriptions on all the cooling system hoses and they have differant descriptions on the parts.

Can anyone confirm if these are all the hoses that i should change or have i missed any?
1 - Radiator top coolant hose
2 - Radiator bottom coolant hose
3 - Coolant rail to coolant pump
4 - Thermostat to pump coolant x2 (1 larger, 1 smaller)
5 - Radiator to fuel cooler
6 - Radiator to oil cooler
7 - Heater to oil cooler

Should i also change the water pump and thermostat? (keep the old ones as spares?)

What type of flush is best to use in the TD5?

thats about right...

it'll take a day + to do it correctly be careful with the tools near the placky radiator and the orientation of the clamps as they can rub on things youd rather they didnt.

When you do the thermostat put the hoses on with the whole thing out of the car then thread it up from the bottom....

make sure the kids and anyone else who is likely to call "swear jar" is out of earshot

make sure you have a couple of different sizes of multigrips, big bull nose pliers and a couple of smallish screwdrivers to help out....

rub back all the ally fittings with emery paper prior to assembly and since you have most of the front apart its a good time to clean flush and replace the intercooler + hoses.


Ive got a thread on how I did it on a deefer somewhere on here and I used an ally based cooling system flush that we carry at work. BE PEDANTIC... you dont want it to go wrong.

Thanks for that mate, is it advisable to use any rubber grease on the ally fittings?

you know I cant remember.. Im pretty sure mine went together without too much hassle and I didnt bother....
Theres 2 hoses on the intercooler If you search fo silicone intercooler hoses you'll find heaps of info and if you dont have em already Id put the coolant system work off untill you get some.
