I have a new 110 on order. Any opinions on Snorkels? Should I get a Land Rover model or ARB Safari? I also like the UK rear bumper tow bar. The dealer still needs to clarify, but there is some indication that this tow bar doesn't meet Australian Design Rules. Comments..
Thanks

i'm fairly sure any snorkel that fits a td5 with abs (99-06) will fit the new one with that little diesel motor thingie. Dullbird may know more on this.
Whats the matter with a hayman reece towbar?

Don't stuff around with dealers as they are having trouble getting accessories like snorkel, tow bar, bull bar etc....
The snorkel is actually being modified for it although I have the td5 fitted it took many painful hours to get it all right so not many people will do a good job on it. I have safari.
Only opposite lock seem to have a good supply of bull bars so far.
Let us know where you live so we can be of more help also.
As for towbar I'm getting hayman reece one.

I phoned safari and they said that a snorkel for the new defender should be available in June but don't hold them to it.
I am in the process of ordering a new defender and am getting the genuine snorkel.
I think it was available with a 2 week lead time. (paperwork at home)
Talk to the dealers spare parts department, they have a much better idea of what accessories are available.
I even have an accessories catalogue for the new defender and the only things in it that not suitable for Austraila are the tow hitches.
Cargo barrier looks really crappy so will wait for aftermarket or make my own.

Mac, I got the LR snorkel Approx $950.00 and fitted myself as the dealer wanted $390.00,
for 2 hours work. The tow bar from Opposite lock (front Runner) not ADR approved YET!!
But can't see a problem unless it falls off, its the same as the use in South africa and europe, model code LRTRB $375.00.
I don't know what state your from, but if from WA then talk to Russell at Welshpool OL.

Heya mac,
I have the new Defender. I got a genuine LR Snorkel with mine - it is a good thing - and would want to be - very expensive but it sure looks good :D
One thing to bear in mind with the towbar is that if you fit anything other than the genuine LR edition - you will loose the back step.

Scallops,
You don't loose the step with the Opposite Lock/Front Runner unit either.

OK - good to know - thanks. I've just bought Numpty's genuine TB though! :D
I've confirmed with Austral that it is identical to the ones they're ordering for the 07 Fender.
And mac - the step towbar combo thingo from England is not allowed to be fitted here
- I can confirm that.

When I bought mine there was an accessories list also but the dealer said the accessories are not available here yet and no one had been trained how to fit them. I believe things have changed but not all accessories are available I believe.

That's OK dullbird - I can take it  I'd never criticise someone else's Fender (or parts thereof) - even if I thought your Snorkel was uglier than Bill Lawry's nose! :D

Six weeks!!! But I go to Church a lot so that probably had something to do with it. No way could you get one in under six months without divine intervention. ;)
Having said that, the system I used to get mine was as follows:
Through a mate who is a fleet purchaser we tracked down a dealer who had one ordered but not yet assigned to a customer in Rimini Red - nice colour but not that popular. He took my deposit thereby securing my place in the queue for a vehicle then proceeded to do a couple of inter-dealership trades to get the colour I wanted. I had to contribute a bit to his freight costs in relocating "his" vehicle down south to where mine was originally going.
