Well stupid me after finding our staffy pup eating my daughters dinner off the table , as she went passed i swung my foot to give her a foot up the bum but missed and cracked the door frame straight with my big toe ! Must of used a bit more force than i thought and now i have gone and broken my big toe, its a nice shade of purple twice its normal size and a little bent :(.
Doc says approx. 6 weeks to heel and he told me off for driving across the rd, off to get it x rayed in case i chipped the bone or something.

Sorry but I LOL.:D:D
Keep an eye on the bruising and an eye out for any infection. Best bet is to strap your toes to stop movement if possible. 4WD should still be possible, depends on your tolerance to pain.

Seen similar, we came home a few weeks ago to find the staffy on the table eating the kids left over cereal. And again before that to find her sitting on a chair at the table eating kids left overs.
:D:D

That'll teach you for trying to kick the dog....or was it your daughter you were trying to kick?

Poetic justice?

It was meant as a move along type kick but the door jamb was closer  - and the dog not the daughter.

Serves you right, if it was hard enough to break your toe it was hard enough to hurt the dog.

LOL....he's a man :D In my experience pain tolerance will therefore be pretty low :twisted:

Oh I dunno, we put up with a lot of pain from our women  :twisted: *ducks and runs for cover*

Dog was further away and door jamb was closer i would have just brushed her fur if it connected.

Probably the same result if you connected with the stafies head. Walked into mine other night in the dark has head like a concrete block. Stern no always the best bet staffies easily intimedated by voice much less success with force. They seem oblivious to pain but highly sensitive to noise.

Yep, as I work in a medical centre as part of my job, you see some very interesting pain thresh holds.
Where was the burn? On my finger! Where on your finger? Right there! Right Where? On my finger tip! Hang on! (grab magnifying glass) Oh its there (pin head size on finger).
Well we had better alert the burns unit, then!;)

Well me as a middle aged male i rekon i have a preaty high tollerence to pain as i had a rear tail shaft drop on me the other night whilst repairing a rangie on dobbos nature strip the shaft hit me in the mouth (luckly not the nose) and i restrained from snoting the bloke who was holding it up outa the road for me tho its my fault for not tieing it up in the first place which is what io did after this incedent and continued to remove disco steves busted rear diff :twisted::twisted:

Tho it must have something to do with the raising of children as i have custody of my 2 kids an 8 yo son and 5 yo daughter is a challange sometimes but i have to do it :D:D:D

I reckon teenagers are the worst...males worse than females...just
Then in the middle ages men far worse than women
Old people seem to be able to tolerate far more pain

Maybe that comes with life experience then ;)
Hi NM,
SWMBO is a prosthetist/orthotist, which as you would know involves fitting halos (bad bad bad part of the job, she hates it), shes had big burly tattooed truckies howling in pain, and yet had little old ladies just gritting their teeth and taking it.

Just wait for your first attack of gout in the said big toes. Then you will know about real toe pain. If you consume enough grog, red meat and seafood, you will get gout if you live long enough.

I have had two doctors tell me that gout is up there with child birth and having experienced it I can see why. Worst pain I have ever had. But until I meet a few women who have experienced both then I wont be making a call on that one.

X2,
Pick up your staffie by the back of the neck & shake it like its mother would have done if it stepped out of line:mad:.Try 2 intimidate it (not hurt it , although I know your not like that:)), your the pack leader. Nows the time 2 show him who`s boss:twisted:. Its far easier 2 do it now than later.
Love your staffie ,he /she will love u back 10 fold. Good choice Nick.
Cheers Dean.

Hope you are taking your panadol and nurofen like a good boy and not walking around on it and getting the foot up on a poof :o :p at every opportunity

doc told me off for driving to/ from the surgery but after going to hospital i have a semi cast on, so foot is on the coffee table with a coffee and laptop- and some drambuie if pain persists;).
