Please dont abuse the website by charging to do services that is in the realm of dealers/specialists.
IF IT IS REPORTED THAT PEOPLE ARE USING THEIR EQUIPMENT FOR COMMERCIAL GAIN THIS THREAD WILL BE DELETED.
Feel free to post what equipment you have and your area.
Thanks
Andrew

Im trying to get my t4 sorted Im currently having issues with the toshiba Im trying to get it to run from... couple of weeks it should be sorted...

as I got it free from the forum I was going to lay on 6 months worth of free usage with callouts providing I was going your way and since the missus loves garage sale shopping that covers most of brissy on a saturday.

Anyone turning up to my place would have free access all the time.

Good one Andrew.

I'll kick it off and say that I'm in Gove (as a few of you know) and have RovacomLite. I've got licences for Lucas Td5 ECM and the Disco II Wabco SLABS and Valeo BCU.

I'm not a mechanic so don't see me for anything else, the main workshop in town is Gove Motors, and Mark there is a pretty decent block.

I've got Faultmate SV, but unfortunately can't help anyone out as it's locked to the VIN of my D3.

Besides, BlackBox is still working on the D3 systems so I can do little more than look at fault codes. Bit disappointing really, given the cash I forked out for it.:(

Well, I don't have a computerised all electronic car and hopefully never will again. I regard them as unsuitable for remote area use. Too prone to instantaneous catastrophic failure. My history with automotive electronics has not been a happy one. Hence my purchase of a County-Isuzu.

However, for those of you with petrol engines, I can offer a Blackhawk ignition analyser, dwell/tach. meters, multi-meters, compression testers, vacuum gauges. Laboratory grade optical tachometer. Ring compressors up to Cummins/Caterpillar size, torque wrenches, micrometers inside, outside and depth, vernier calipers to 12", dial gauges, dial test indicators, last word indicators, centre finders. Hand tools up to truck & earthmover size. Reamers, drills from No. 80 to 1" x MT3, counterbores. Turning capacity to 60" between centres. Mig and stick welders.

are they one-off things?

I've given Dave my list of cables and accessories. I know he has a couple I don't have. They are short adaptor cables that plug into the diagnostic port, e.g the red one.

They can be bought but they aren't cheap!

Nice list of toys Brian, but where are you?

Inner Brisbane, south east. 10 minutes from the CBD when the traffic lights are friendly. Forgot a fair bit of stuff in my earlier list. Compressor, air tools, die grinders, surface and angle plates, trolley jacks, safe stands, usual hand held power tools, The normal tools of a journeyman fitter-machinist who spent much of his life in the motor and machinery industries, and as a truck owner and driver, car restorer, motor sport competitor, out of control collector.

I have the Faultmate SV as well and agree with Jamo as to its limitations at this point. However if others have this device or the Rovacom for the D3 we could still discuss what we find when using it as the Black Box website doesn't respond too well to postings. :(

Is that T4 you are using the LR T4 diagnostics(Testbook?), could use a copy if it can do the D3..

it can do the D3 and having a copy of the software is pointless if you dont have the hardware.

Awesome idea putting this all on a map. That way people could either download it and print it off before heading off on a trip. Then if they get in trouble all they need to do is put the word out via a few pms.

Personally, I am happy to help anyone clear faults if they are anywhere near me...

Good idea! Just saw the location map of who has what.
If ppl want to PM me with their GPS co-ords and details, I can put together a waypoint file or set them up as POI's for GPS use.
POI's would be done with Garmin POI software, so it may not suit everything, however waypoints would be a gpx so usable be everyone.

If those of you who have gear havent got a GPS to get your co ords, just use Google Earth to find where you are and cut & paste the details from there.
Cheers

Andrew.

You can download the latest version here: AULROian Electronic Diagnostics Map (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/local_links.php?action=jump&id=68&catid=3)

Although I could make the location points used in the map available (as it's all done in GIS), I'd rather not, since the data quality is poor once you start zooming in - eg. for those locations not on the 1:2.5M map, it's me taking pot shots of "yeah, about 5km north-ish of wherever". It's really more a case of "this is roughly where the town is", rather than a geocoded street address:eek:. The other consideration is that some of us on the map would generally prefer be contacted before someone drops by ;).

[Mods - you might like to remove the previous map from the files section to avoid confusion ;)]

The simple answer is no. I was looking at getting a scanguage to use on my Freelander and contacted the makers in the US and two distributors in Aust - I was assured by all of them that Scanguage II worked on both the Freelander and TD5 as they were OBDII compliant.

This thread also indicates Scanguage II works on TD5 Defender so should not be an issue on the Disco.

Sounds like the gas fitter hasn't put injector emulators into yours. When you change to LPG, he's probably just shutting the injectors off and they log open circuit faults.

What type of diagnostic tool is needed for the freelander TD4???
Is the Nanocom able to be used?
My step Daughter just got ripped for a new fuel pump.
The car still has the same problem, by the way it drives I'm guessing it is electrical, the engine light come on when ever it playing up. Possibly a sensor (CRANK?) it stutters/jerks even on the over run while slowing down. never seen a fuel pump give trouble when slowing down. Accelerates with out drama.
At Idle the revs picks up and slows then it will stall if you give it long enough.;)

Murphy's Law strikes again! -
I'd copied over the details to make up a new map while I was out tonight, but then after I do that, DavidB puts his hand up too, so I had to then add his entry in just now. :)

Anyway, it was worth it, :) as there are now forty in the list!

This means that it's now 2 pages - first page is the map of where everyone is; but now identified by a number; cross reference with the second page to get name & details of the diagnostic equipment.

Now downloadable from the files section: AULROian Electronic Diagnostics Map (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=3&id=71)

I have removed the two previous versions from the files section so you can only find the latest copy.

Hey guys,
Just a thought, but is there a way a lsit can be compiled by state/area of people willing to lend a hand with Nanocoms/diagnostic equipment, rather than trawling through 10+ pages of posts?

Maybe some kind of list of users and their equipment, rather than lots of posts, thats all.....

Username - Equipment - State, Town (suburb code)
Initial contact could then be made via PM, rather than posting personal details. Maybe updated every 3 months or so?

Like I say, just a thought. :)

I'm currently looking into getting either the NANOCOM or the Faultmate MSV-2 Extreme. Does anyone with a NANOCOM know if it reads the D2 TD5 Autobox? The Faultmate looks a good piece of kit but the single vehicle licence is a draw back if I get a second Landy and could cost me heaps in extra licence fee's.

Also where is it best to get a NANOCOM from, on shore or imported. Cost is an issue.

Thanks in advance for anyones help or advice.

I don't suppose there is anyone in Adelaide with a Rovacom or similar who can help JSP sort his P38A problems. He's replaced the alarm receiver, BECM, and GEMS ECU with second-hand items from another vehicle but he's got lots of weird problems, e.g. immobilised, one headlight only comes one, blinkerts work on only one side.

A local LR expert wants a grand to sort it.

I suspect it needs a reset with T4 or Rovacom.

Time I added my name to the list. I am in Canberra.

I have a FaultMate MSV-2 with multi-vehicle software module for the Range Rover P38 HVAC system. I also have the single vehicle full licences for my P38 Rangie and Freelander but they are of no use to anyone else. I will consider adding other multi-vehicle modules that may be of benefit to local Land Rover/ Range Rover owners. Next ones I add will probably be BECM and SRS modules.

I also have:
EAS Unlock cables and compatible USB-Serial adapters (P38)
EAS Buddy (P38)
EAS Kicker (P38 and RRC)
EAS Kicker Lite (P38)
ABS Amigo (Disco 2)

Yes, I sell this stuff too... but these ones are my personal units that I use to "eat my own dog food" and make available to help out AULRO and LRC mates.

I have a generic reader that also clears codes and can check some sensors ie O2 sensor readings. I have only used it once on a BA Falcon to test it works.

If you have a vehicle probably non-landy that needs a code reading or clearing your welcome to bring your vehicle to my home.

It MAY do basic stuff on a D2 but I have never tested it.

PM if you want to arrange a time / date

Please note if anything goes wrong i will not take any responsibility, I guess that goes without saying really so just making sure ;)

Where are you located in Melbourne?

Three amigo's can only be partially & temporarily be resolved with a Nanocom. Not sure what your key fob issue is and whether it's a Nanocom fix.

ECU update requires a programme + nanocom to install. Nanocom is not the only requirement for an upgrade.

Pm me and we'll see what can be done to resolve some of your issues.

Just took delivery of Nanocom for Td5 Disco II directly from manufacturer in Cyprus: https://blackbox-solutions.com/
Service has been very helpful so far. Getting through the unlock process is onerous but fair enough given the high incidence of technology theft these days.

Very happy to help anyone who wants to drop by (Nanocom only unlocked for Td5 Disco II for now but if you can afford the unlock code from Blackbox we can upgrade the device to help with any Landy)

Not sure I would qualify for it anyway, Being on the otherside of the World. (UK).

20% was a christmas special. 10% for initial equipment purchases is still available to AULRO members. From memory you need to have been a member for more than 6 months and have made more that 100 posts to the forum to qualify. This was designed to prevent people signing up just to get a discount.

Might be good if landyandy would update his very first post in this thread with the link to whatever is the most current file. Would save people looking on almost every second page to find the most recent link only to find it was on the other every second page they missed etc :D

Also, when at home the current format is fine, however when on the road browsing capability is often limited by phone access etc - instead of a map with locations and numbers to crossreference against another list, would coloured dots or some other symbol work? This way you can recognise instantly that the assistance at points a, b, c could help your particular type of vehicle but the unit at point d won't be useful at all as its coded only for td5.. or whatever
Just a thought.
I'll be on the list eventually but not yet

I'm in the process of trying to clean up the listing of members with Diagnostic Equipment and have removed a number of members who no longer have access to diagnostic gear for various reasons.

For the moment the most up-to-date mapping is an unlisted google map which shows the location of members who have diagnostic gear. The location given is within the post code area supplied by the member. You'll still need to come back to AULRO to PM the member you wish to get in touch with.

https://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms'msid=218400750788295972519.0004d2028daa79a1b492 9&msa=0

Where the information is available I have tried to colour code vehicle support.

Done now. Could have sworn I did that yesterday

What I've done is to go through the entire thread and create a master list of all members who have put their hand up. I then removed members where they have posted that they no longer have the gear, or in one case I knew the owner no longer had a LR (I'd looked at buying his D2 from the following owner 18 months ago). The bulk PM to members on the list has turned up a number of people who no longer have diagnostic gear for various reason or due to vehicle upgrades now have gear locked to a single VIN. Others have gear that is non-functional in some respect or is suspected to be a bit dodgy.

There are probably listings that still need to be removed from the map. I'm giving members until the end of January to respond to the PM at which point they will be deemed to be no longer active.

I'm heading off for a few days over new year, but will double check all the responses when I get back and update the map as required.

cheers
