View Full Version : Foul weather means another delay to Fraser trip !!!

VladTepes

I HATE the thought of delaying my trip to Fraser coz I have to be back by a certain date so every day I wait is a day less on the island.

However, while I can handle rain I don't fancy the prospect of trying to weather gale force winds in a tent behind a dune (if indeed there still are any dunes on Fraser!). Nothing worse than having a tent shredded at the start of a trip - especially an expensive one !

I read the BOM report here:

Forecasts for Southeast Queensland (http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDQ10080.txt)

which says:

WIDE BAY AND BURNETT DISTRICT
Severe Weather Warning is current.
Cloudy with widespread rain areas, and a thunderstorm or two. Moderate to heavy
falls likely. Moderate to fresh E to SE winds, tending NW to NE and becoming
strong and gusty about the coast.
Outlook for Wednesday ... Rain areas easing to isolated showers.
Outlook for Thursday ... Isolated showers.

So it looks as if the weather might be moderating after tonight and I could head up tomorrow ! Let's bloody hope !

I log in on the bom site and the satellite image is not very positive about the weather down south.
Like that I have a Disco and not a Defender 130 so it can handle the bad weather and the occupants are dry. :D

Well I warned you that 130s are cursed.

Edd warned you.

Hiline has scared his into submission.

Rick130 keeps his tame by feeding it gold.

Now it's your turn to do a deal with the devil Defender.:D

Cheers

Lending out other peoples gear now?....Surely it's up to Aaron as to whether he wants to lend his gear out...

If you'd offered my gear to someone I'd be mightily pee'd off

as a wonderfull women said to me once in a very helpful pm "some of the people you are talking to and upsetting are personal Friends out side of the forum and if you don't know that you will sometimes come across as being rude " or something to that effect ;)

although i don't know Aaron out side of the forum sense , l do know him well enough to have a personal joke with him within the forum !!:D

so thank you for the social etiquette lesson, i will try to keep from having anymore personal jokes in the future

cheers

ps this was not ment as a slag off on you if you take it as that , im sorry
