I enjoyed the bit of male bonding at the end - If there is anything that would make one bloke kiss another bloke it would be the loss of his troopy!

Seriously though, would he have had any better luck if he'd used narrower tyres with a defined tread edge, instead of those big balloony things with which his Troopy seems to be shod?

By the look of the way they were performing they reminded me A LOT of some so called all terrains I had. To answer the question yes, some slightly more side lugs and not so wide tyre ( at full pressure) can make a big difference in that type of surface.
