101 transmission cables

I am currently getting a new FC 101 transfercase high/low cable fabricated at a cost of $135.00 each.
It will include the forked ends for the clevis pins and the ball mounts to the chassis.
The pto cable is the same but longer.
Also I am getting a special cable done for my overdrive which is 300mm longer than the high/low cable.

What I am doing getting a cable made 300mm longer than the high/low shift cable after having removed that as a sample.
As that cable is at the cable makers I am getting that made too.
I will fabricate a extra hand lever the same as the levers all ready in place.
This extra lever will go in the spare beside the existing levers ( just like the 101s with trailer drive)
The overdrive as fitted to a early range rover has a simple linkage for the shift handle........this is fitted to the 101 and very easily converted to suit the 101 by running the cable to it just above the transfer case where the end of the cable is fitted to a shorten rangie overdrive lever.
A very simple bracket of a piece of bent alloy bolted to two existing bolts on the top of the transfercase is used to anchor the cable outer case.
I do have some photos somewhere........its very simple when you get a cable of the right lenght.
Con wire of Sydney is making the cables for me.
To make extra is no problem
They will have them back to me a few days via post.
I have been quoted $135 per cable.

That price includes the forked ends for the inner cable to take the clevis pins and the special outer cable anchor which is two small plates with a ball between so the cable can self centre with load just like the standard cables.

Hmm - I wished you had posted this in about 2 months time - I cannot move mine out of high range - I haven't looked at it yet as it is a low priority at this stage as I just want to get the truck on the raod first and then work everything else sorted then.

So i don't know if I need one or not at this stage.

Garrycol The 101 has a history of bending the high/low shift fork inside the transfer case due to the great leverage of the cable set up.
