Without counting chickens before they have hatched,
it would appear that our boy from Queanbean may have (at last) got himself a competitive and reliable car.
F1 | Formula 1 - Webber puts Red Bull fastest at Jerez - ITV Sport (http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=41772)
With the current furore over F1 continuation in Oz post 2010 this could be a very timely occurrence.
But as previously stated lets not count those chickens to early.

I reckon Hamilton will have it this year. Webber has talent, but he wont have the car to do the job from race to race throughout the year.

Not taking anything away from Mark here, and geez the bloke could do with a break. But when you see McLaren languishing down in 6th and 10th, that speaks volumes about the meaninglessness results from pre-season testing in F1.
Nobody wants to give anything away (in terms of performance gains over the winter break) so they potter around with full fuel, etc.
So somebody has to be fastest, but it's not usually the fastest cars / drivers. It's all about advertising, so for red Bull they know this will get a story and make a point of going fastest.
In the pre-qualifying rule change days, teams could go out whenever they wanted during the 1 hour qualifying period. Teams like Minardi, Sauber, etc would be first out everytime on a green / cold and hence slow track - this was because they KNEW that they would get TV coverage if they were the only cars on the track. To me this is what teams who show there hand at pre-season testing are doing.
