Every 14th of February you get the chance to display your fondness for your wife or girlfriend by showering her with gifts, flowers, dinner, shows and any other baubles that women find romantic.

Secretly...guys feel left out. That's right...left out. There's no special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation for the men in their life. Men as a whole are either too proud or just too embarrassed to admit it. This is why a new holiday has been created.

March 20th is now officially 'Steak, Bl*wj*b & Shut the F**k Up Day.'

Simple, effective and self-explanatory...this holiday has been created so your ladies can have a day to show your man just how much you love him.

No cards, no flowers, no special nights on the town the name of the holiday explains it all...just a steak, a BJ & shut your mouth for the rest of the day! That's it!

This twin pairing of Valentine's Day and Steak, Bl*wj*b & Shut the F**k Up Day will usher in a new age of love as men everywhere will try THAT much harder in February to ensure a more memorable March! It's like a perpetual love machine.

The word is already spreading, but as with any new idea, it needs a little push to start the ball rolling.

So spread the word, and help bring love and peace to this crazy world. :D

Valentines Day??

American rubbish, just like Haloween SP?? , 4th of July... whatever..

I know you live in the UK, but the American culture is not that popular down under.

News poll result:

Will you be doing something for Valentine's Day?
Yes, 17%
No, 83%.

Just ran it by the missus:(....oops, lucky I can lock my study door. Will keep mentioning it and see if the osmosis effect takes place. She just had her b'day on Tuesday, and I mentioned that lets not do anything this year as I dont need a reason to let her know that I....welll.....you know . What happens get woken with a card and chokkies :), so this arvo had to make sure I remembered a card. Hmm, just asked again about the "new" day, still no go, but Im a persistant bastard :D,

ok, so i am a grumpy old miserly person [or insert your own adjective],
but this bloody valentines day crap is just that -crap.
it wasn't around when we were younger, and wasn't necessary.
now it only serves to benefit mr valentines card business, penny pinching news agents and the flower floggers.
sure some of you girls get a thrill from it, but in the end it is wasting your beau's hard earned cash [or some other suitor's] which could be far better spent taking you out to dinner or buying another bit for his land rover, to increase your enjoyment of going out on trips with him.
and my wife of some thirty years agrees.

er, don't think she agrees with spending money on land rovers.

bah humbug!!!!!!!!!!!

Valentine day not American by the way

Its actually Roman and represents a guy who was murdered for failing to disclose lovers identity when questioned and Valentine is a saint of RC church.

As for me l had lucky escape as l thought it was Friday 15th not 14th but when l pre-ordered my floweres the florist said is it for Valentine day l said yes she said Roses or other l said other and the deed was done girlie was happy and my mistaken dates saved.
