Hi All,

This is my first post apart from the introduction and I would like to say.... great site!!

What is the general feeling on Iron Man suspension for a Disco 1 V8?

I would like to upgrade from tired standard suspension and can not afford the Old Man Emu stuff. I have a roof top tent and carry jerry cans full of fuel when need to on my Overland trips, so I guess I will be going for the load carrying springs.

Thankyou,

Hi Bruce
Can't comment on the Iron Man gear, but imho I wouldn't waste money on OME stuff anyway. Had their coils and shocks put in my Wrangler and they were bloody horrible with what turned out to be a reputaion for sagging in the Jeep. They also failed to correct the Wrangler's in-built lean (to accommodate the US road camber). So ended up pretty annoyed and will not use OME again.
I'm sure someone has had some experience with the Iron Man gear and can let you know.
Good luck!
Mike

The OME gear I have isn't too bad, there is certainly better about though. The springs are pretty good for touring, offering a reasonable lift and travel. The dampers appear to be a bit stiff though. When it's time to replace them I will be looking around at other options.
