In have been working on my 101 for a week now and as I thought the brakes are in a bad way - though the linings are OK - even though the fronts are rivetted.
Master cylinder is being resleeved, booster is being rebuilt, new wheel cylinders all around, some new brake pipes and today I found the main rubber hose to the front brakes was blocked so new rubber pipes. I haven't checked the pressure equaliser yet though.
The lot will go back in later this week - now I have been told never drain the brakes because they are a pain to bleed and get all the air out. I have never had a problem in any of my other cars but I am always happy to listen to those who know more than me.
So - given I will have to bleed the system when it is back together are there any particular tricks to bleeding a 101. I have identified 6 bleed screws and I intend to start with the longest run first working through to the shortest and then will probably do it a second time.
I would appreciate any particular processes that may be unique to the 101.
Thanks
Garry
