I reckon both of these look pretty good.
Here's a review of the Mio P560
Mio P560 Review Review in Handhelds Reviews at ZDNet.co.uk (http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/handhelds/0,1000000736,39291199,00.htm)
seems good esp memory and compatible with bigger mem cards but its not a VGA display. Hmmm.
The other one that people seem to be banging on about is the Asus A696
mypocketpcmobile.com >> ASUS A686/696 Review (http://www.mypocketpcmobile.com/ASUSA696Review/tabid/215/Default.aspx)
Hmm not VGA either - might have to waut til the next generation for those !
I wonder which is better. What do you reckon ?
Also I know Blknight.aus has the mio digiwalker 701 which is like the Mio above, I think, but just with a phone built in ? I think I;d rather have a seperate phone as dont really need to carry a PDA around all the time.

A guy in our club just bought a HP iPaq with an inbuilt GPS. Comes with Tom Tom software too.
Welcome To Johnny Appleseed GPS - Your HP and GPS shop in Australia (http://www.ja-gps.com.au/hp-rx5965.htm)
Seems quite good but I only had a quick play.
Can't go wrong with an iPaq.

Hmm, reviews here: HP iPAQ rx5965 Review - PDAs (http://www.cnet.com.au/mobilephones/pdas/0,2000938760,339271368,00.htm)
are so-so.

He was looking at the Asus as his first choice (don't know which model) but he could only order one in (or over the net) but he wanted to see it and feel it before parting with the cash.
Just read the review (think I've read it before) and it looks fine to me. The GPS locking on would be the biggest annoyance but they said it got better after the first time which all GPS units do. Maybe battery life but it depends on what you use it for. Mine is plugged into the car 24/7.

I was more concerned about the lock on time (if it got better that would be good) but also it says it runs programs on the pda pretty slowly (in one of the user reviews).
Found this helpful site, for comparisons:
PDAcomparer | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of PDA, PDA Phone, PNA & Smartphone Specifications (http://www.pdadb.net/index.php'm=pdacomparer)
the ones I was looking to compare are:

The running programmes slowly thing I couldn't really say as it was faster than my Toshiba E570 running Win2002 but then what wouldn't :D
Although mine runs OziCE fine but is slow with Destinator.

I seem to be answering a lot of my own questions here but according to the specs via that last link the Asus supports only 2Gb expansion cards but the Mio (apparently) supports up to 32Gb of additional memory !?
Are the SD cards made in this range ?

OK I think I'm after the Mio !
The problem is, even after ringing all the stockists on their website I can only find the in car nav (ie non PDA) or the phone version. Noone seems to stock the one I'm after !!!
Can anyone help me ?
Wo sells 'em here in Aus and where can I get one at a good price where I still have a chance of a warranty claim if required !?

That was the problem my mate had which I mentioned above. He was told PDAs are a dying technology (I assume due to Blackberrys) so most places only stock one type being the HP he bought. Not even all the HPs.
Have you been to Office Works. When I was looking for mine they had heaps of different types and brands but that was a few years ago now.

It hasn't been released here or in the USA yet and I'm unsure about Asia or Europe - however due to the presence of this youtube clip
YouTube - Mio Digiwalker P560 unboxed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6L_J4QVH6g)
I had assumed they might be available somewhere....

if you are after a PDA that runs GPS check out the palm treo, (I have the 750) they have developed well over the years.
Anyhow mine runs Tomtom, which is fantastic on road door to door & voice direction. Can't praise it enough. BUT........
Go off road and it's less use than a landcruiser ;)
Total waste. Tomtom that is.
It will run OziExplorer I believe which by all accounts is the thing for off road.
