G'Day LRO's,
I would really appreciate your wisdom and guidance if you would be so kind...
I am considering buying a 1989 county 110, 315000 k's V8 with gas conversion, roof cage, Bull bar, spotty's, red, motor runs nicely, some panel damage around the place but not terrible, tyres 70%ish, 11 months rego...
What do you think it's worth?
Is there any inherent bad things about this model I should know?
(Be honest now, I know you boy's LOVE your Landy's!)
There is a CLUNK ish kinda sound when accelerating from rolling or after changing gears (a bit like the diff catching up with the gearbox?) is this normal or is this a bad sign?
Anything else I should know??
Thanks heaps

the clunk will more than likely be the aframe ball joint.
without seeing it and assuming that its got the mild chassis rust the counties all seem to have developing Id guess at not more than $7k but thats assuming that all the extras are top notch.

The V8 is probably worth $5k max - although gas makes it probably cheaper than the diesel to run, V8 is a dirty word on the used car scene, depressing prices. But the actual value is very dependent on condition, much more so than it is on configuration or equipment. It is worth more if it does not have factory air conditioning - this can have all sorts of problems and use a lot of labour to fix, which gets expensive if you are paying someone to do it.
The clunk is, as commented, probably the A-frame ball joint, although there are other possibilities, most of them not particularly expensive. The expensive bit will be bulkhead or chassis rust, and a life inland is the thing to look for. Biggest problem is that it is over twenty years old, and may have had a hard life. If it has been looked after, it could be a good buy.

Thanks for your input!!
Looks like $3K is going to be the figure we will settle on, this seems like a fair price based on all your comments(Very minimal chassis rust). As for the Clunk, hopefully it won't amount to much.
I'll look forward to using the old girl and getting to some places we've never been before.
Thanks Again.
